Kid's Consignment Event

Fri.-Sun., November 20-22, 2026

Rockingham County Fairgrounds

Join our Team!

At Giggles & Goods Kid's Consignment Event our goal is to welcome crew members who want to help us create the very best selling and shopping experience possible for our community.  Our hiring policy invites you to become a temporary seasonal employee with us instead of just a “volunteer.” You’ll be compensated with a paycheck for the hours you work, not as a percentage of what you sell. Consignment Events across the country are moving to this model and team members are loving it because they are usually making more money. Keep reading for details on how and why you’ll want to join the Giggles & Goods crew.

We typically look for around 50 crew members each season and those who can assist for 20 hours or more.  Most of our consignors want to pitch in for a few shifts to help get their stuff sold and to be a part of creating the sale for the community!   But it's definitely not a requirement. You might help with set up & merchandising, put out signs, hand out flyers, assist shoppers, tidy the sales floor, pack up donations, or even work as a cashier. There are hundreds of shifts available -- including a few that you can do from home outside of sale hours. Bottom line: you pay us to get your stuff sold in one fast convenient place.  And then . . .We'll pay you to help us sell all the stuff and assist the community with this awesome event!

Yes! I wanna be a Team Member! Sign-ups will open Feb. 3!

Reminder: You'll have to fill out the new-hire paperwork and sign up  for a minimum of 12 hours that work for you!  New Hire paperwork includes an I-9, non-compete, worker contract (that you agree to all of these policies) and an info sheet.  See Team Member (Addendum A) Work Agreement here.

Team Member POLICY:

Please know how much we appreciate your time and effort! We understand that things come up, a sick child or other event may prevent you from completing your shift; however, we plan our worker schedules based on the needs of the sale. If you have registered for a shift and do not fulfill your shift, it hurts the production of the sale from set-up to break down and pick up.

This is NOT a volunteer position. We are hiring you to work here and we need your help to run the event for the community. Please note these policies and requirements before you sign up:

  • You MUST first select a “15 minute interest shift” in our system.
  • After being notified that you are eligible for hire, you may select 3-10 shifts to work during the event. You MAY NOT sign up for more than 10 shifts (40 hours!).
  • Every temporary seasonal employee will fill out the hiring packet (I-9, non-compete, worker contract (that you agree to all of these policies) and an info sheet) prior to their first hour of work. You will be given the opportunity to fill this out in advance, via our hiring software. If you can not do this, then you MUST plan to arrive 30 minutes early to your first shift in order to complete this.
  • All team members must be at least 16 years of age and must sign up through our system.
  • Sign in and Sign out is required for every shift.
  • 24 Hour Notice of Shift Cancellation is required
  • Worker MUST remove themselves from the shift (you must log-in and out of each shift)
  • Workers shifts will LOCK at 5 p.m. the night before set up.
  • If you are a REGISTERED consignor and scheduled to work and DO NOT show up for your shift OR give 24 hour notice, you will forfeit all employee perks, you will have a percentage of your sales reduced from 60% of consignment to 50% and you will neither be paid nor able to shop during presale shopping. If you have already availed yourself of these perks, they will be forfeited for next season.

If you are considering signing up to be a crew member at our sale, or if you are already signed up, here are a few tips and suggestions that you might find helpful.

  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You will be standing for a majority of your work shift and we want you to be comfortable!
  • The tasks assigned to workers during their shift are dependent on the needs of a shift. Giggles & Goods Kid’s Consignment will do our very best to give complete and detailed instructions to workers so that they will be comfortable with the tasks assigned to them.
  • Drop-off day workers usually help us retrieve items from cars, inspect and direct consignors in putting items on the sales floor as they come in.
  • Sunday is all about breakdown/organization of the sale.
  • Workers must sign-in with Marissa, our hiring manager, as they arrive for their work shift.
  • After crew members are signed in, they should get an apron and a name tag to wear during their shift. These items are required & help shoppers and others know who is a Giggles & Goods Crew Member.
  • Our goal is to make your work experience enjoyable and pleasant. We try to have fun while we are working the sale. We look forward to having you join us!
  • NOTE: Workers should NOT bring their young children with them to work. Rare exceptions have been made for nursing infants, but the appeal must be made and approved before signing up to work.
  • Giggles & Goods Kid’s Consignment Event is not responsible for any injuries received at any time during the sale.
